THE New Bradley Hall Action Group will be holding a public meeting to discuss concerns over plans to put the under-threat care home in the hands of a not-for-profit organisation or charity.

It will be held at Kingswinford Methodist Church, Stream Road, Kingswinford, on Tuesday December 17 at 7pm.

Mac Scott and Phil Vanes formed the action group to urge Dudley Council to keep the popular home open and they celebrated a reprieve last year but the pair have in recent months reignited their campaign after discovering Dudley Council wants to get the home off its books to help save cash.

The council says it has already received expressions of interest from 13 organisations keen to run the home and the tendering process will run until the New Year.

Councillor Dave Branwood, Dudley's cabinet member for adult and community services, who is heading up plans to shape the care home's future, said the council’s idea “keeps the home open, protects the jobs and keeps the quality of care high”.
