STOURBRIDGE musicians and DJs have teamed up to launch a charity single to help Black Country families and individuals living in poverty.

Musicians from charitable performance group Gig Caritas and Stourbridge community radio station 102.5 The Bridge have recorded and released a version of Bing Crosby's festive classic Do You Hear What I Hear? to help raise cash for Cradley Heath based Christian charity Loaves 'n' Fishes.

The song, recorded at St John’s Church in Stourbridge and produced by Eddy Morton from music venue Katie Fitzgerald's, features the lead vocal talents of Bridge broadcaster and guitarist Jen Robins plus Wayne Deano Allen, Black Country Gaz, Kelly Louise, Clutching at Straws, X Marks the Girl and singers from Gig Caritas.

Money raised from sales of the recording will help the charity in its endeavours to provide furniture, household essentials and clothing to underprivileged families and individuals suffering hardship.

The Bridge weekend breakfast presenter, Dan Richards, said: "Its great to hear such a well known song being given a new lease of life in this way.
"That said, I can play it on my show a million times - what we really need is for the public to get behind it too."

Copies of the single can be downloaded from website http://thebridgeradio.net/christmas/ or from iTunes and Amazon.
