AN historic building company has moved its head office to Stourbridge after 100 years based in Walsall.

Kendrick Construction Group has moved its entire team to a brand new 21st century HQ on Hagley Road.

Westhill House, a new 10,000 sq feet property with onsite parking, has been purpose-built by the family firm's own team and kitted out with state-of-the-art technology .

Bosses hope the new building will take the company forward for another 100 years.

William Kendrick, group managing director of Kendrick Construction, said: “Our new building is a strategic move for us and one that will firmly move us in to the 21st century.

“Our brand new offices are fit for purpose and clearly reflect the quality of homes that we build for our customers.”

Previously based in Tasker Street Walsall, the company has been going for more than 130 years and has its own architects, building and maintenance divisions, planning and project management staff.

William Kendrick originally founded the firm in 1880 and his Black Country roots and reputation for skilled and conscientious work led to him winning substantial contracts throughout the region.

He was later joined by his son, who continued to guide the company's growth after the founder's death at the age of 91.

Today fourth and fifth generations of the first William Kendrick continue to steer forward the company, which has an eye on further expansion over the coming years.
