STOURBRIDGE music fans can enjoy an evening of rock and roll while raising funds for a good cause.

Popular tribute band, Out of the Shadows, will use their talents to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society when they perform at the Stourbridge Institute, Market Street on Saturday March 22.

The band perform some of the greatest pop songs and instrumentals from the late 50s onwards from 7.30pm.

The event has been organised by Brierley Hill social worker, Kate Weston, who made a pledge to spend 12 months fundraising for the charity in October.

She said she was "really excited" about the event and added: "I’ve seen the band many times and they always get the crowd dancing. We have been so lucky to secure the band because they are always in such high demand.

"I’m really grateful to them and the Stourbridge Institute for supporting me."

The Dudley Council worker has already raised nearly £3,000 and her charity challenge will culminate in a self-funded, sponsored hike across the Himalayas in October.

Tickets cost £10 and include a ploughman’s supper and are available by calling 07855619818.
