PASSENGERS escaped unharmed after a bus smash at a bus shelter in Wollescote this morning (Monday January 8).
Paramedic Roy Russon, first on the scene at 10.50am, said the bus veered into a stationary van - pushing the van into the bus shelter in Oakfield Road.
He said: "There were about five people on the bus including a young child in a push chair. Fortunately there was nobody at the bus shelter.
"None of the bus passengers were injured and the youngster in the pram didn't even wake up.
"But there is no doubt this had the potential to be very serious."
The bus driver, a man in his 50s from Halesowen, was taken to Russells Hall Hospital.
