WORDSLEY schoolchildren visited Dunsley Hall Hotel recently to get some top tips for growing their own fruit and veg.
Pupils from Fairhaven Primary School’s eco-council received a guided tour of the Kinver hotel's walled garden and were told what food they could grow themselves at the school's allotments.
It was the first of a number of planned visits and in the future, the youngsters will take a hands-on approach and get stuck in to help revamp the garden.
Deputy headteacher, Tom Garner, said: “Teaching children about green issues is really important. Our aim, in time, is to achieve the much coveted Green Flag Award, but developing our school’s outside space and putting these areas to use growing fruit and vegetables is a key part of our plan."
He added: "We want all of our children to be involved using our new greenhouse and revamped allotments to grow food.”
