FORMER England batsman Mike Gatting will roll up his sleeves and get stuck in to some DIY during a visit to Pedmore Cricket Club on Sunday (April 6).

The club is taking part in NatWest CricketForce, an annual initiative that encourages communities to chip in and prepare the country's cricket grounds for the season ahead.

This year, Pedmore has been chosen as one of the showcase clubs that will benefit from a helping hand from the well-known cricket personality.

Club chairman, Roger Price, said: "There's a whole host of jobs that he can get involved in. We are putting up new fencing, which will need painting and we will need to clean around the outskirts of the grounds, cut the hedges and erect safety nets."
