WANNABE pop stars in Dudley will have the chance to prove they have what it takes to be the next big thing when the X Factor auditions come to town.

The mobile audition tour will visit Dudley Town Hall on Wednesday April 23.

James Arthur, who went on to win the show in 2012, had his first audition on the mobile tour and all budding hopefuls need to do to follow in his footsteps is turn up between 12-4pm to perform in front of the X Factor team.

Those that impress the team with their vocal ability will go on to audition in front of the four celebrity judges in the summer.

Show creator and head judge, Simon Cowell, said: “The last time I was on the show we discovered One Direction, Cher Lloyd and Rebecca Ferguson.

"This year we’re visiting more towns and cities than ever across the UK to find the next pop star ready to take on the world. So if you’re thinking about auditioning, just do it.”

Cheryl Cole, who recently announced her return to the judging panel, added: “If you do something original or a good remix or something that makes people sit up and listen, that’s always a good start.

"So go and do some research, find some unique ways of singing songs we’re already aware of.”

Acts are advised to arrive at the St James's Road venue early, as audition slots will be on a first come, first served basis.
