Classic car show will raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust
12:32pm Monday 7th April 2014 in Local
A CLASSIC car show will be held in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust to thank the charity for the support it has given to a Stourton family.
Organised by The New Unnamed Classic Car Group, the event will take place on Sunday April 27 at The Old Waggon and Horses pub, Stourbridge Road, Kidderminster.
Ian Macaulay, of Brierley Hill, who formed the group last year, said the chosen charity was close to the heart of one of the members, whose niece, Imogen Westwood, was recently diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a cancer that develop in the supporting tissues of the body.
The 13-year-old is currently undergoing chemotherapy to target the tumour in her upper chest.
Mr Macaulay said: "Both her and the family have received huge support from Teenage Cancer Trust, hence our decision to support them."
All classic cars are welcome at the event, which starts at 12 noon, for a donation of £3.
Imogen's father, Andrew Westwood, said he would be attending the event and was pleased that the charity would benefit.
The money raised will add to the £4,000 her family have already raised in sponsorship ahead of their head shave on Sunday (April 13).
Mr Westwood, his son, Alistair and several other family members and friends are set to lose their locks to show their support for Imogen, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Summerhill, Kingswinford, from 4pm to 6pm.
Donations can be made via www.justgiving.com/alistairwestwood.
