STOURBRIDGE charity shop volunteers have celebrated the 25th anniversary of the town's British Heart Foundation outlet.

Staff and shop volunteers celebrated with tea, cake and a birthday party on Thursday April 10 - and certificates were awarded to people who have volunteered at the High Street shop for more than a year.

Long-serving volunteer Eileen Manning was among those honoured. The 77-year-old has helped out at the shop since it opened a quarter of a century ago.

BHF Area Manager, Cathy Poultney praised the efforts of dedicated volunteers and loyal customers "who really make this shop special and help the BHF funds its life-saving research".

She added: "We’ve enjoyed a fantastic 25 years of business in the Stourbridge shop.

“We are looking forward to welcoming even more customers in the Stourbridge shop and making the next 25 years equally as successful."

The shop sells clothes, shoes, accessories, DVDs, books and CDs and 100 per cent of the profits raised fund the charity's life-saving research to help find the causes of and treatment for heart disease.

Anyone with anything to donate can call the shop on 01384 374372.
