FORMER King Edwards College student Anna Floy is preparing for a summer expedition to Zambia after being selected by the Voluntary Services Overseas to take part in their ICS young people's programme.
Anna, aged 19, will spend three months working and living in local African communities where she will be helping to prevent HIV/AIDS along with improving basic sanitation on a longer term programme.
Currently in her first year at Bristol University, Anna, from Hagley, said: "I already do a great deal of voluntary work with the homeless as well as conservation work with the National Trust on Clent Hills.
"I was looking for a voluntary project to do this summer abroad and came across VSO which is funded by the government. I knew it would be reliable and high impact."
Anna is now attempting to raise £800 which goes towards the community projects she will be working on in Zambia.
Anyone who would like to donate can do so online at www.justgiving.com/Anna-Floy or by texting VSOZ66 with an amount to 70070.
