MATALAN stores across the Black Country have raised thousands of pounds for the NSPCC over the last 12 months.

Staff and customers at stores, including those at Merry Hill and Oldbury, have raised £7,350.41 for the children’s charity since last April, by taking part in a variety of fundraising events.

Mike Jeans, Matalan HR and retail director, said: “We are very proud of all our fundraising efforts for the NSPCC over the past ten years.

"We have seen a real team effort made by all staff and customers and we are delighted to be raising vital funds which will help support the children’s charity and the invaluable work they do across the country.”

Kathryn Taylor, the charity’s corporate fundraising manager, added: “For the past decade Matalan’s staff and customers have continued to smash targets and raise more funds year after year for the NSPCC.

"This will ensure the most vulnerable children in communities across the West Midlands and the rest of the country can access help from the NSPCC, including through our Childline Service.

“We would like to thank all the hard work everyone has put in.”
