A TRIO of Bridge Radio presenters took to the waves this week to help raise funds for the Georgina Unit at Russells Hall Hospital.

Retro rocker Steve Taylor joined forces with sports reporters Adam Perkins and Luke Randall to take part in the Bewdley Regatta.

The team, who took their chance against 48 other crews, was completed by Cy Wooldridge and David Gregory .

The Foresters Arms pub in Wollaston not only backed the quintet financially but also helped raise sponsorship from regulars - taking the total raised to more than £2,000.

The cash will be added to the £2,500 tally, following a live music event the team staged in Kinver over New Year.

Cy said: "We finished last at Bewdley, but we did our best and only just got beaten in our second race.

"I think we were the only crew there raising money. I would recommend the regatta to anyone."
