A RAPPING robot has been teaching kids at Belbroughton and Hagley Schools about the importance of recycling.

Made from recycled and waste materials and with a belly made from plastic bottles, Cycler the android danced and rapped his way through a routine to help teach primary school youngsters how they can look after their environment by reducing, re-using and recycling their waste.

Organised by Bromsgrove District Council and national charity Waste Watch - the all-singing all-dancing robot's interactive visit proved a huge hit with pupils.

Furlongs district councillor Margaret Sherrey, the council's portfolio holder for street scene and waste management, said: "It's very important for children to learn about recycling - they are our future, so if they don't look after the planet we haven't got much chance."
