A MOTORCYCLIST who was seriously injured in a crash in Wordsley last weekend has died.

Ashley Silvester, aged 20, from Wordsley, collided with a silver BMW on New Street at the junction with Manor Road at around 7.20pm on Saturday (July 5).

Emergency services were called to the scene and Ashley was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, with serious head, pelvis and leg injuries.

He died in hospital on Wednesday (July 9).

Police are now appealing for witnesses to help them establish the cause of the smash.

Sergeant Neil Higgins, from West Midlands Police’s collision investigation unit, said: “A young man has tragically lost his life and we are trying to understand how that happened to give some answers to his family."

The driver of the BMW was voluntarily interviewed by police at the scene of the crash.
