WALL Heath and Kingswinford War Memorials Research Group want to hear from anyone who can provide them with information about J T Williams who lived in Back Lane and died during World War One.

He remains the outstanding serviceman who the group know nothing about as they prepare to put a book together on the 109 men who gave their lives during both conflicts.

Group member Joy Marshall said: "There were four men that we knew very little about. But in the past couple of weeks, we've had a major breakthrough.

"We tracked down one with the release of details from the Commonwealth War Graves, while two more came to light after going through service papers."

But details about J T Williams still eludes them and Joy Marshall added: "We believe his name was John Thomas Williams. We understand he had a daughter named Winnifred who moved to Pensnett in the 1930's and son named Lawson Frank."

If anyone has any information they are asked to contact Joy Marshall on 07739 572121.

The group will be staging its next display at Kingswinford Library on Saturday August 9 from 10am until 1pm.
