AMBLECOTE shoppers have helped to raise £250 for the Black Country Food Bank by trying their luck on a teddy tombola.
Sainsbury's customers paid £1 per ticket for the chance to win a cuddly companion on September 13.
Marcia Welch, who helped to organise the event, said: "We were overwhelmed by the support of our shoppers, who were queuing up, to have a go even before we had set the tombola up."
The store has now raised £874.68 in cash and £1,081.87 in food and non-food donations, since announcing the food bank, based in Albion Street, Brierley Hill, as its charity partner in July.
