Crime crackdown wins over chamber

BLACK Country Chamber of Commerce has welcomed proposals for new measures to crack down on serious crime.

The Serious Crime Bill aims to make life more difficult for the serious criminal through the introduction of Serious Crime Prevention Orders, which will restrict activities of known major criminals.

George Munro, the Chamber's Dudley director and lead spokesman on crime, said: "New measures that help to tackle serious crime are welcome, but it is important that our police force and the judiciary are given full training."
