BANK manager Mandeep Rajput managed to raise close on £6,000 for Mary Stevens Hospice by cycling from London to Paris and has vowed to keep up the fundraising year on year.
The 41-year-old Come Dine With Me contestant from was so inspired by the occasion that he has vowed to complete a cycling challenge every year for the Stourbridge-based hospice.
Mandeep's money has been used to buy three new hoists for the in-patients room at the Hagley Road site.
Mary Stevens corporate fundraiser Chris Schofield said: "This was something we didn't have funds assigned for and now means every room that has been refurbished at the hospice now has all the facilities a patient could need."
Mandeep, from Tividale, said: "I have seen first hand the difference Mary Stevens Hospice services make not only to patients, but to their loved ones as well.
"If I can help, even in a small way, then I will be more than satisfied."
