THE dad of a woman killed by her ex-partner has praised a new hard-hitting borough domestic abuse poster campaign.
The you said it would be the last time' scheme highlights the offender rather than the victim encouraging them to admit to their behaviour.
Posters feature a coffin with a dozen red roses placed on top with the words you said it would be the last time...you lied'.
Peter Hartshorn lost his daughter mum-of-two Karen Hartshorn in February last year when she was killed by her ex-partner of 17 years Peter Martin.
Frenzied Martin was jailed for life in December last year after Karen had her throat slashed in a frenzied attack at her Coseley home.
Peter Hartshorn said: "I fully support this hard-hitting campaign to encourage offenders to come forward and have the decency to admit to their behaviour and get help, before it really is too late.
"My family and I will never recover from losing our daughter and I will continue to do all I can to support the forum so that hopefully other families won't ever have to experience what we have gone through."
Offenders are urged to call the Respect hotline on 0845 122 8609 for help and victims of domestic abuse can ring Victim Support on 01384 241511.
