BAD weather is causing an increase in emergency calls as people slip and fall in icy conditions.
Emergency services have been inundated with calls from people with injuries to knees, wrists, elbows and shoulders with some requiring hospital treatment.
An ambulance service spokesperson said: "Our advice is don't go out unless it is absolutely essential.
"If it is necessary to venture out take extra time and care on your journey to reduce the risk of having an accident."
West Mercia Police have repeated the message to stay at home if possible as Kidderminster and Worcester are hit hard by the arctic conditions.
A police spokesperson said: "The majority of roads remain impassable or very treacherous and we urge people to use caution and only venture out if your journey is extremely important."
As Stourbidge continues to shiver today (Thursday) forecasters are predicting a cold night with ice and freezing fog set to cause more travel chaos on Friday.
