MOTORISTS are being urged not leave handbags in car boots after more thefts at North Worcestershire beauty spots.
The latest saw a bag containing £40 stolen from a boot between 2.30pm and 5.30pm on Sunday February 25 from the Walton Hill car park on the Clent Hills.
A spokesperson for North Worcestershire Police said: "Despite repeated appeals, drivers are continuing to leave valuables in car boots at North Worcestershire beauty spots.
"Thefts are being reported most weekends and as spring approaches and people start getting out into the countryside, we would like to remind motorists to think about crime prevention.
"It is particularly important not to arrive at the car park and then put valuables in the boot, as thieves may be watching. It is also vital never to leave anything on display in the vehicle, as even a carrier bag or old jacket left on the back seat can be a target for thieves.
"Drivers should take valuables with them or leave them at home."
Witnesses or anyone with information should call Bromsgrove Police on 08457 444888 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
