FORMER players from Halesowen Town and Stourbridge Football Club are preparing to lace up their boots and do battle again when they face each other in a charity match on Sunday April 19.

They will be featuring in a charity fun day at Stourbridge's War Memorial Ground which is being staged in memory of Black Country funnyman Tommy Mundon and Dinky Pountney, father of current Glassboys chairman Andy Pountney.

Both suffered from Parkinson's and money raised from the event will be donated to both Parkinson's UK and the Dudley and District branch of Parkinson's.

Andy Pountney said: "I was brought up in Halesowen and I knew Tommy's family quite well, so I wanted to do something for both his and my father's memory while helping to raise awareness of Parkinson's at the same time."

Stourbridge blasts from the past set to appear include Les Palmer, Mark Bellingham, Tim Nicholls, Matt Lowe, Morgan Brookes, Adam Bastable, John Sharpe and current assistant manager Jon Ford.

The Halesowen side will include Tim Clarke, Paul Hunter, Andy Bradley, Lee Downes, Alex Cowley and Darren Goodall.

Live music from Black Country bands will be taking place throughout the day and there'll be plenty of entertainment for youngsters with bouncy castles and face-painting provided. There's also a raffle and auction with prizes on offer.

Visitors will also be able to watch Aston Villa's FA Cup semi-final with Liverpool in the clubhouse.

Gates open at noon with the match scheduled to start at 1.30pm.
