THE Amblecote community is getting the chance to be a little more creative at the first Sainsbury’s craft event.

Inspired by the demand in the High Street store for knitted poppies during last year’s Poppy Appeal collection, staff are now inviting the local community to be part of a new group.

The group will use their talents to create crafts for themselves and for the benefit of local charities when they meet at the in-store cafe at 6.30pm on Wednesday (August 5).

Sainsbury’s will provide refreshments for the group, and the get together will include a welcome from the PR Ambassador Julie Bate and a brief talk from Alison Bates on how the monies raised from last year’s Poppy Appeal collection helps the local communities.

It is hoped that the event will become a regular part of Sainsbury’s community programme and showcase the talents of local people as well as support charities in the community.
