A WORDSLEY councillor is hoping to tidy up his ward following increasing complaints of graffiti and litter.

Councillor Paul Brothwood said he is concerned about the rise in petty anti-social behaviour, especially around Randall Close.

To help to combat the issue, Dudley’s UKIP group leader is arranging a local litter pick to take place on Sunday (August 30).

Cllr Brothwood said: “The High Acres is a lovely area and where I was born and bred. It is a great shame that a few idle people can create such a mess.

“We have all seen a reduction in local community policing and the loss of local youth services and sadly the affects are visual.

“I have asked the council to remove the graffiti and tidy the alley nearby and cut it back to allow easier passage.

“I want to see the area cleaned up as soon as possible and hope local people will come and join me on Sunday.”

The litter pickers will meet at the Bromley Lane Tesco store at 10.30am.
