THE FUNERAL of a Brierley Hill mother who died suddenly was filled in the brim with friends and family paying tributes.
Penny Jones, aged 26 from Brookmoor died suddenly from a rare blood disorder which affects only one in a million people.
Penny had visited her father's home for a meal on Easter Sunday and had complained of feeling unwell for up to three weeks.
Penny went to Russells Hall Hospital on Tuesday where doctors did numerous tests including blood test and found she had a rare blood disease.
Doctors were going to give her a plasma transfusion but Penny had a cardiac arrest and they couldn't bring her round.
Her father, Keith Jones from Kinver said: "Penny did the right thing going to the hospital but it was too late.
"I have nothing but praise for the staff at Russell Hall, they were fantastic they did what they could."
Mr Jones explained how Penny had suffered from a rare blood disorder Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura known as TTP.
The condition was is so rare even if Penny had visited her GP they would have been unlikely to have recognised it.
Mr Jones lost his wife, Rosemary, 14 years earlier from a embolism, a blood clot on the lung.He has been told there is no connection between the death of his wife and Penny's blood disorder.
Penny leaves a son Liam, aged nine from a previous relationship, her partner of four years,Colin and her brother, Andrew, aged 29.
The family are devastated they have lost Penny and are in complete shock.
Mr Jones added: "She was very kind hearted, she would have done anything for anybody.
"She was very outgoing and very friendly.
"She loved horses and dogs and the outdoors, going camping, fishing, cycling and swimming with her son."
Many friends and family turned out to pay tribute to Penny at her funeral which was held on Friday April 20 at Stourbridge Crematorium.
