WORDSLEY fundraiser Geoff Hill has helped raise nearly £3,500 for needy Dudley kids from his last ever open garden event.
Geoff and his wife Sue opened up their private garden in Lawnswood Road for the last time on Sunday May 20 in aid of children's charity Dudley HOPE.
Helped by Stourbridge Rotarians, the couple have been staging the annual open event at their Tinkers Cottage home for the last five years - raking in around £15,000 for the cause.
This time around 700 people flocked to the garden party - which also included a raffle plus cake and plant stalls.
Geoff said: "We had a lovely day, it all went very well - and it was nice to see everybody enjoying themselves."
He said with his 80th birthday fast approaching - the event was the last large scale open garden he and Sue would be holding.
Money raised will go directly to Dudley HOPE, which co-ordinates the borough's annual Operation Santa appeal.
