DUDLEY charity Action Heart is expecting to pull in around £15,000 after 16 fundraising runners pounded the streets in Sunday's London Marathon.
Among those running for the borough's heart charity, based at Russells Hall Hospital, was Phoenix Big Band tenor saxophone player Joanne Martin who achieved a personal best of four hours and eight minutes.
First-time marathon runner Paul Robson from Kinver completed the race in four hours and 11 minutes, while Action Heart staff member Linzi Murray completed her first marathon on Sunday in four hours and 31 minutes.
Meanwhile - Amy Skidmore completed the event in six hours and 28 minutes, having taken on the charity challenge in memory of her beloved marathon running dad Paul Skidmore, a patient and supporter of Action Heart, who died of heart disease aged just 54.
Joy Brown, from Action Heart, said: "Our runners did our charity proud on Sunday. Each and every one of them successfully completed the 26.2 miles around the capital."
She added: "It is too early to know exactly how much has been raised for Action Heart but we anticipate it will be in the region of £15,000."
