A MAJOR Black Country road is set to be closed this week so repairs can be carried out to a ‘dangerous’ manhole cover.

Motorists have been warned to expect disruption as the slip road between Stourbridge Ring Road and the Hagley Road (A491) is being shut on Tuesday (May 3).

Only affecting those travelling southbound away from Stourbridge, the closure will take place between 7pm and 9pm to allow the sunken and rocky manhole cover – which Dudley Council have labelled dangerous – to be repaired.

Stourbridge News:

An alternative route for southbound traffic will be along New Road, Worcester Street and Heath Lane before venturing onto Hagley Road.
