GREEN-FINGERED villagers in Kinver will once again be throwing open their well-tended gardens for another charity open event.

Seven gardens in the South Staffordshire village will be open to the public between 1pm and 6pm this Saturday and Sunday (June 24 and 25).

Visitors can pick up a programme at the clock tower in the High Street which permits entry into all seven gardens.

There will also be a plant sale and refreshments available at Kinver Community Fire Station in Fairfield Drive.

Up to 2,000 visitors are expected to flock to the village for the event which this year will raise money for Churches Together in Kinver to help fund youth activities at St Peter's Church, The Methodist Church at Potters Cross and at St Mary's Church, Enville.

Mary Tromans, who will be opening her garden at 70 Churchview Gardens, said: "This is our 20th year - we must've raised around £40,000 for various charities over the last 20 years."

Other gardens set to open are located at: 22 Churchview Gardens, April Cottage in Fairfield Drive, Cobweb Cottage - 90 High Street, Silva Nova - 26 High Street, Chestnut Lodge in Dark Lane, and The Grazings in Redwood Road.

Programmes permitting entry to all of the gardens cost £3 for adults and £1 for children. Free parking will be available in Legion Drive by the KSCA.
