REBECCA Forrest has obtained the highest honour possible in Girlguiding after being presented with the Queen's Guide Award.

The 25-year-old, who is a leader with the 1st Pedmore Brownies, was presented with her award by Chief Guide Valerie Le Vaillant at the House of Commons earlier this month.

It took Rebecca four years to complete all of her challenges to obtain the award which included taking on the role of a first aider at a Brownie camp and giving talks to local guiding groups about work done by the Blue Cross animal charity.

Rebecca completed her challenge while studying for a university degree and she now works as a quantity surveyor in Redditch.

She said: "It's the highest award I've ever achieved. Completing my degree and Queen's Guide Award has made me a much stronger person."
