A STOURBRIDGE schoolteacher has admitted installing secret camera equipment in female toilets for his sexual gratification.
Paul Bodley installed the equipment in toilets at Redhill School, Junction Road, where he worked as a music teacher.
He was arrested after a red light on the camera was spotted by a 14 year old girl and the equipment was later found hidden behind books.
On Friday June 8, Bodley of Church View, Bewdley, pleaded guilty to a charge of voyeurism involving the installation of the equipment to observe others in a private act He was remanded on bail until Friday July 6 for a pre-sentence report by Judge Michael Challinor at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
The 54 year old who placed the equipment in the toilets between March and June last year was suspended from his teaching position after his arrest.
John Freeman, Dudley Council director of children's services said: "We were all very shocked by this, there were no warning signs of this sort of behaviour. As soon as it was brought to the headteacher's attention an investigation was immediately launched by the school and the police. "The welfare and safety of our pupils is paramount and this kind of behaviour is taken extremely seriously. We all regret the distress caused to pupils and staff at the school. "
