A KINGSWINFORD man has been released on bail after he was arrested on Saturday (November 26) in relation to a fatal crash near Wolverhampton.
The 25-year-old was arrested alongside a 27-year-old from Wolverhampton but both men were released on bail pending further inquiries.
Staffordshire Police launched an investigation following the death of Frederick Dudley, aged 90, who was hit by a black Volkswagen Scirocco on the A449 between Wombourne and Wolverhampton.
Mr Dudley, of Bearnett Drive, Wolverhampton, was hit at about 5.20pm on Friday (November 25) near Penn Cottage, in Lower Penn, and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.
A vehicle believed to have been involved in the collision has been recovered and is undergoing examination as part of the investigation.
Police said specially trained family liaison officers are now working to support Mr Dudley’s family.
