WALL Heath Camera Club will be staging a new exhibition – capturing the beauty of the everyday –throughout the next few months.

‘Life through a Lens’ runs until June 3 at Wordsley’s Red House Glass Cone and includes a range of prints, some of which will be for sale.

The display features subjects ranging from vivid autumn landscapes, to gritty monochrome portraits and wildlife in its natural habitat. The exhibition even includes some shots of glassmaking.

Pictures include Adrian Whitehouse’s dramatic coastal scenes and Eddie Barnett’s nature shots, while local scenes include Richard Williamson’s Autumn at Bumble Hole Bridge (below) and Melvyn Dodd’s Dusk at the Four Stones Clent.

Wall Heath Camera Club formed in 1982 and has grown into one of the most popular groups in the West Midlands, welcoming new members, regardless of previous experience, and experienced photographers keen to share their knowledge and help members develop their own skills.

Alongside photography, the club has a big social focus with a range of programmes, activities, events, competitions, presentations and talks as well as practical sessions and studio work.

Sid Grigg, club chairman, said: “At WHCC we feel photography is an enrichment; making observations, meeting new friends and acquaintances.

“The photography on show represents life as we see and experience it, with that little bit of creativity in the taking, and again in the processing and printing.

“We look to capture a split second in time and turn it into a pictorial image for all to see and enjoy. From beginners to advanced photographers we want to share our view of the world and invite people to share our journey through landscapes, portraits and wildlife.”

The club, which is affiliated to a number of organisations including the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the Midland Counties Photographic Federation, and Members of The Black Country Arts Council, meet on alternate Wednesdays at Dudley Kingswinford RFC.
