HEARTBROKEN family and friends of a popular Stourbridge DJ who died suddenly will bid him a fond farewell next week.

A funeral service for 31-year-old Adam Tombs will be held at St James Church in Wollaston on Monday May 22 at 11.30am, followed by a private committal and a wake at Stourbridge Rugby Club.

Mr Tombs died in his sleep while at his girlfriend Kim Parton’s house in Frankley, near Birmingham, on April 15.

He worked as a mechanic at the family business - Castle Road Motors in Kidderminster - but he also hosted hugely popular drum and bass club nights, presenting his ‘High Voltage’ events as DJ Toomz, at Stourbridge venues including the Arena, Moochers and Fitness Factory.

Mr Tombs, of Cathcart Road, started working at the garage at the age of 16 after leaving Red Hill School.

His mum Christine Goodall said he would be sadly missed by his family, friends and clients.

She has requested family flowers only but people can make donations for either The British Heart Foundation or Crisis for the Homeless via funeral directors H. Porter & Sons in South Road, Stourbridge.
