CREATIVE Kingswinford kids will be leaving their paw prints all over Bear-mingham as part of an artistic charity event.

Kingswinford School will be taking part in ‘The Big Sleuth’, which will see more than 100 giant bear sculptures displayed around the city centre during the summer.

Pupils took part in a ‘bear week’ where they were given a bear to decorate and encouraged to come up with designs.

This was won by Year 7 pupil Grace Jones, with her ‘forest by day and night’ design and fellow students helped bring it to fruition.

Their piece will be part of a bear trail, organised by Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity and creative group Wild in Art, for residents and tourists to seek out.

The sculptures will then be auctioned off to raise funds for the children’s hospital.

Sharon Bianco, head of art, said: “The whole school took part in ‘Bear’ week. Students were invited to take part in designing the bear, we were inundated with entries and it was a difficult decision to choose the winner.”
