A STOURBRIDGE mum with an incurable lung disease is organising a ball to support the charity that helps her and other women with the rare condition.

Leanne Lillywhite-Sutton, aged 34, hopes her Black & White Charity Ball being held at the Holiday Inn at Birmingham Airport on Saturday, September 30, will raise vital funds for LAM Action, which helps women with Lymphangioleiomyomatosis.

The cause of the condition, better known as LAM, which destroys lung tissue and leads to severe breathing problems, is still unknown but it is believed there could be a hormonal connection as it almost exclusively affects women of childbearing age.

Leanne has teamed up with her former InterContinental Hotels Group colleague John Thompson, from Bromsgrove, to host the event.

The ball will feature live band The Spectrum, and attractions including a photo booth and a Pick n Mix table, plus an auction and raffle.

Mother-of-one Leanne said more than 200 people were set to attend the ball, but tickets are still available if anyone is keen to attend.

“We're excited to have organised what promises to be a fantastic evening,” she added. “We would like to thank everyone who has supported us with the event through both raffle and auction prize donations and their commitment to attend on the night.

“In particular we would like to thank our main sponsors Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport, Infinity Financial Advice, Greystone Lettings, The Nail Lounge, Elite Paving & Construction, JC Payne Commercial Vehicle Bodies, JT Sales Solutions, HLM Associates, Channel Engage - plus three very kind donations from MCOCO hotel booking agents, Barry Connally and close friends Malek Moussaoui & Chantel Coppier.

“We're extremely grateful.”

John, who runs his own sales consultancy business and lives in Bromsgrove with his wife Caroline and sons Miles, aged 12, and Noah, aged 15, added: “We have an amazing band lined up, a lovely meal with drinks planned for everyone and some brilliant raffle and auction prizes on offer.

“There are still tickets available and we would welcome anyone either known to us or not who would like to purchase any remaining tickets either as individuals or tables.

“We would also welcome any further raffle or auction prizes from local business.”
