THE trial of a doctor accused of making a string of sex attacks on patients at his Dudley surgery was set to start today (Tuesday).
Dr Jaswant Rathore has denied 18 charges of sexual assault involving eight complainants alleged to have been committed between September 2013 and May 2015.
The 60-year-old has been suspended from treating patients by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service.
He had been allowed while on bail to continue with administration duties at the surgery but barred from having any contact with patients.
Heidi Kubik, prosecuting, will outline the case against the doctor of Ploughmans Walk, Wall Heath, to the jury before calling evidence.
The trial of the doctor who was previously a clinical lead on Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group is expected to last for three weeks.
The jury has already been sworn in before Judge Michael Challinor at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
