YOUNG Stourbridge chefs got a chance to show off their skills in the early rounds of a national competition.
The Rotary Club is looking for youngsters who can prepare a main course for two spending just £4 on ingredients.
Stourbridge Rotarians gathered six finalists on Saturday January 12 at Hagley Catholic High School, Brake Lane, to compete for a place in the next stage of the competition.
Winner Jonathon Monk, aged 12, from Old Swinford Hospital School, collected a first prize of £25 and a chef's jacket for his dish of leek and vegetable pie.
The Rotary Young Chef Competition concludes in April with a grand final in London, top prizes include a trip to Italian olive groves and a day as a guest at celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's Fifteen' restaurant.
