ELDERLY and disabled people in Dudley could benefit from extra cash to pay for more home adaptations to help them live independently in their homes.
Dudley Council has been awarded £128,000 to boost its Disabled Facilities Grant until the end of March.
The grant pays for adaptations like wheelchair ramps, stair lifts and downstairs bathrooms.
Dudley South MP Ian Pearson said: "This extra money - on top of the £1.1million already allocated for 2007-08 - has the potential to make a major difference to the lives of some of our most vulnerable citizens.
"Relatively small-scale projects like fitting a ramp can help them maintain their valued independence."
Grants of up to £25,000 are available and anyone who thinks they may be eligible should contact the council.
