A NEW course designed to help carers move on after a bereavement or if the person they were looking after has moved into residential care has proved popular - with only a few places remaining.
This Saturday (jan 26) is the last chance both current and recent carers can enrol for the City and Guilds course which covers moving forward, taking care, managing care and living with others.
Participants can study at home or online and there will be monthly group sessions, tutor support, IT sessions and group meetings to suit student needs. One to one sessions may also be available.
The course is free to carers on means tested benefits. Other carers may be able to claim a carers' direct payment.
Saturday's enrolment will take place at the Advanced Technology Centre, Waterfront Business Park, Brierley Hill, from 9.30am-11am. Alternatively, contact Dudley Council's carers' co-ordinator Christine Rowley on 01384 818723 or visit www.learning-for-living.co.uk
