Film-maker seeks shorts

Movie-maker Dan Evans Movie-maker Dan Evans

A WORDSLEY movie-maker is still seeking your short stories to help snip away at his latest project.

Twenty-year-old Dan Evans is currently devising a comedy entitled Barber Queue - set in a hairdressing salon run by a boozing barber.

But to help him make the project a cut above, he wants readers to send in their own short comedy hairdressing stories - of no more than two to three minutes in length.

Dan from Swanfield Road is looking to gather as many witty, slapstick, humorous sketches/storylines as possible - and the best eight will be selected.

He said: "The series of stories will be linked together as a typical day in a barber's shop, very much like Expresso that was shot last year - starring Sir Norman Wisdom."

Dan, whose first movie Reminiscence was screened at Merry Hill's Odeon cinema, has already managed to sign-up Birmingham-based actor Martin Nigel Davey (producer and star of Expresso) to appear in the film, and he is hoping to attract a few other stars too.

Meanwhile ambitious Dan is also busy working on a second flick - psychological drama Time Waits, which he hopes to have ready by August.

Ideas for the hairdressing flick need to be submitted by the end of May 2008 as Dan hopes to have the script ready by September and to start shooting in January, and the movie ready for release in spring 2009.

In return for their stories/sketches - writers will get a credit, a copy of the film, and the chance to see their story brought to life on screen.

Anyone wishing to submit an idea - or anyone interested in helping out behind the scenes with lighting, sound or props on Time Waits - can email Dan at dan@expressiveartsproductions.com or visit his website www.expressiveartsproductions.com
