A TEENAGER could have lain unconscious for up to an hour after falling from the horse she was riding, at Enville, near Stourbridge.
After coming to, she managed to call her parents from a mobile phone and they raised the alarm at 4.10pm on Saturday February 2.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle to the scene; a field off Bradbury Lane.
Emergency medical technician Ben Rhodes said: "The 15-year-old girl, who lives in the local area, was very cold from having lain there for so long.
"She was complaining of back and neck pain so we immobilised her using a neck collar and spinal board. The field she was in was very muddy so we requested the County Air Ambulance from Cosford be sent.
"It landed right next to us and then airlifted her to New Cross Hospital for further assessment and treatment."
Early indications are that she will make a full recovery.
