A KINGSWINFORD man caught performing a sex act in his car near groups of children has been spared jail.
At Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday February 15, John Robinson, aged 30, was made the subject of a three year community order.
Robinson, of Southern Close, had admitted three charges of outraging public decency at an earlier hearing.
Judge Michael Dudley said: "This was indeed outrageous behaviour and it was done in areas where there were young children."
He warned Robinson: "If it is repeated you will be in much more serious trouble."
The Judge made it a condition of the order that Robinson attends the Sex Offenders Treatment Programme.
Judge Dudley said: "This is designed to change behaviour, I trust it will succeed."
Sarah Buckingham, prosecuting, said a householder in Sunnymede Road, Kingswinford saw Robinson committing the first offence and he took the registration number of his red Toyota Celica.
The court heard there was a mixed group of young children nearby and, in the following month, Robinson was seen doing the same thing again in Rangeways Road, Kingswinford, by police officers.
Miss Buckingham told the hearing Robinson was in the back of his car and not far away was a group of schoolgirls.
She added: "It is clear he accepts this is an urge that requires treatment - it is an addiction to this particular activity."
Mr Christopher Gibbons, defending, said Robinson was a man of positive good character and it was accepted he needed help to control his urges.
Mr Gibbons stressed to the court it was not a case where serious sexual harm had been caused to anyone.
The Judge told Robinson the best way to serve the public was for him to go on the Sexual Offenders Treatment Programme.
