Posters are being put on West Midlands Ambulance Service vehicles, warning the public of the consequences of attacking staff.
Bearing the slogan Your Choice of Treatment, it shows the picture of a paramedic and a police officer - to remind people who attack ambulance staff they will be dealt with by the police instead.
The posters are currently being fitted to ambulances across the Black Country and West Midlands.
Steve Elliker, regional security specialist and safety manager said: "This is part of an ongoing campaign by the Department of Health.
"These posters act as yet another reminder that it is simply not acceptable, whether intentional or not, to attack our staff whose job it is to save lives.
"We actively pursue every case that is reported to the Trust by staff; there are no exceptions."
