BRIERLEY Hill firefighters will be showing their support for the armed forces by holding car washes to raise funds for wounded soldiers.

Charity car washes will be taking place at Brierley Hill Fire Station, Dudley Road, between 10am and 3pm on Saturday July 12 and on Saturday July 19.

Money raised will be split between the Fire Fighters Charity and the Help For Heroes campaign that supports wounded soldiers.

Firefighters from Brierley Hill White Watch, who are organising the events, will also be selling wristbands for the armed forces charity and giving out leaflets explaining its work.

Representatives from the Territorial Army, 37th Signal Regiment based at Swinford Road, Stourbridge, will also be at the event on July 19 to support the fundraiser.

Captain Andy Barnard said: “We are very pleased the firefighters are supporting this worthy cause and we really appreciate their efforts.”
