Top magician Ali Bongo's spell in Stourbridge

TV magician Ali Bongo made himself at home in the Stourbridge House of Magic to open a new extension.

The celebrity and leading member of The Magic Circle called at the shop on Brook Street to join the Mayor and Mayoress of Dudley for the ceremony on Friday September 12.

Ali Bongo, who was the inspiration behind the BBC character Jonathan Creek after working as an illusion designer on many popular TV shows, cut the ribbon to open the extension before giving a lecture to members of the Stourbridge Magic Club.

Shop owner, John Milner, believes expansion of the premises is a positive development at the well-known business.

John said: “Lots of people are interested in magic and the shop gets people coming from all over the country.”
