MARY Stevens Hospice is opening a new shop in Wollaston this Friday (July 10).
The double-fronted shop in Bridgnorth Road is due to open at 11am - and it will sell furniture, collectibles, books and clothing, all donated by the community.
Pupils from The Ridge, Ridgewood High School and St James’s Primary School will ‘cut the ribbon’ at the opening ceremony - and young cheerleaders from The Ridge will be entertaining the crowds.
Simon Henwood, business manager at the hospice, said, “We have been waiting for some time for a suitable unit to become available in Wollaston because we are very much aware the community is keen to support their local hospice.
“During the past few weeks we have been inundated with calls asking when we are due to open and we are delighted to be able to meet their needs.
“I am sure with the ongoing support from the community, this latest store will be a great success and provide much-needed funds to enable Mary Stevens Hospice to continue to provide high standards of palliative care to those with life-limiting illness.”
Clothing and other items can be handed into the store during opening hours.
Anyone wishing to arrange collection of donated furniture can call 01384 379414.
