A STOURBRIDGE primary school is set to host an Olympic themed sports day to celebrate the forthcoming London 2012 Games.
Ham Dingle School in Pedmore is running the event for all school pupils on Thursday June 21.
Parents and governors are invited to watch the activities, running from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and including a medal ceremony afterwards.
An opening and closing ceremony will also take place - with pupils singing and performing an Olympic-themed dance.
Councillor Tim Crumpton, Dudley’s new cabinet member for children’s services, said: ”Ham Dingle is a Get Set School, which means they have registered with the London 2012 committee and have, as a result, received free tickets to watch the men’s athletics at the Paralympics in September.
“I wish the school every success with their Olympic themed sports day and hope the games, both Olympics and Paralympics, will inspire youngsters from across the borough to participate in sport.”
