BRIDES-to-be can shop for their big day and help Mary Stevens Hospice in the process at an upcoming bridal auction event.

Taking place at The Copthorne Hotel in Brierley Hill, Lye’s Georgina Scott Bridal store will have 29 designer dresses to auction off at a fraction of the retail price, and all in aid of the Hagley Road charity.

Brides will be able to visit The Copthorne between noon and 5.30pm on Sunday, February 21, to try on the dresses before the auction begins at 6.30pm.

Amanda Bowen, community engagement officer for the hospice, said: “We are overwhelmed by the fabulous donation of 29 designer dresses from Georgina Scott Bridal.

“What a fabulous way to support a local charity on your wedding day and grab a bargain at the same time!”

The Copthorne Hotel has provided its Caslon Suite to host the event free of charge, while Dudley Council registrars will be in attendance to give support and advice, as well as to showcase their new Thomas Robinson register office due to open in April.

Tickets are priced at £5 each and are available by calling Georgina Scott Bridal on 01384 893656 or Mary Stevens Hospice’s fundraising offices on 01384 377778.

The funds raised from the event will go towards patient care and the running costs of the hospice, which currently stand at £2.8 million per year.
